About Interlaced Studios

Place:

Interlaced Studios is based in Austin, TX...right in the center of the "Live Music Capitol of the World."  Year-round music events like South-By-SouthWest and the Austin City Limits Music Festival insure that the amps are always kept warmed up and the fingers are always kept loose.  And if you're an aspiring musician, Austin is DEFINITELY the place you want to be.

Surround yourself with good company, and you'll be surprised at the results...

Background:

Interlaced Studios was founded in 2005 by Director and CEO Landon Covington, a graduate from The University of Texas Film School, but most importantly, a fellow musician.  He began his love for recording at 14 when he would connect several different tape-deck boom-boxes together in his bedroom to create a make-shift analog multi-track recorder and editing music videos together using similarly linked VHS decks.

Since then, Landon has gone on to master both audio and video non-linear editing.  He has worked on several short films, and worked professionally for Time Warner's News 8 Austin shooting coverage for ACL Music Fest, and in multi-camera shoots for the Summer Rooftop Music Series.

Currently, Landon works as an editor/videographer and sound designer for ME Television-Time Warner Cable's Channel 15.

Equipment:

Using state-of-the-art, professional equipment, Interlaced Studios ensures the top-most quality in every production.  We employ the same production tools on our systems that Hollywood uses:  AVID's completely integrated Xpress Studio, making use of Xpress Pro video editing, ProTools LE audio editing, 3D, FX, and DVD by Sonic to provide professional products.

The Panasonic DVX100A provides not only flexibility, but an amazing look.  It can shoot in either 30fps (standard video) or 24fps which looks convincingly like 16mm film, but at a fraction of the cost!  If you're looking for HD, Panasonic's HVX200 is unbeatable, again with variable frame rates and native 16x9 (widescreen) frame. And if that's not enough for you, we can always go 35mm!!!

If you can dream it, we can film it!!!   (budget permitting, of course!)
